Central Texas concrete plants receive safety awards The Texas Department of Insurance, Division of Workers’ Compensation (DWC) recently recognized Lauren Concrete plants in Austin and Manor for their exemplary workplace safety programs by renewing their Lone Star Safety Awards. The ready-mix concrete plants are among 18 of 23 Lauren Concrete facilities in Texas to receive the Lone Star Safety Award.

East Texas company earns Lone Star Safety Award The Texas Department of Insurance, Division of Workers’ Compensation (DWC) recently recognized Capacity of Texas with a Lone Star Safety Award for its exemplary workplace safety program. Capacity of Texas employs 119 workers at its Longview plant. It manufactures terminal truck tractors for ports and railway hubs around the world.

Mason County Courthouse fire photos Mason County’s historic courthouse was all but destroyed by a fire that began Thursday night. The Texas State Fire Marshal’s Office, part of the Texas Department of Insurance, has joined law enforcement agencies investigating the fire. These photographs of the courthouse were taken by an SFMO-directed drone this morning.
